On Thursday 30 August our residents at Woodstock Residential Care Home put in some elbow grease and cleaned some beautiful brass pieces. We all took great interest in making the brass look as good as new again.
Some of the brass pieces had intricate designs that needed extra attention and one of our residents suggested using a toothbrush and washing up liquid to really make the brass glisten. This was a very good idea and it really did work wonders!
We gave the brass a good wipe over with Brasso and then polished it off with cloths. This activity was good for concentration and focus, plus a good form of exercise for the arms!
As we worked, we all shared memories of cleaning our own brass at home and everyone was very keen to see the project to the end.
