Last week, a group of our Woodstock Residential Care Home residents enjoyed an arts and crafts session lead by Jayne from the Creative Minds Group.
We had a therapeutic session as we created some gorgeous bird scenes.
Everyone started off by tearing colourful tissue paper into strips and gluing them down onto A4 sheets of paper. We used our favourite colours to mimic sunsets and to create colourful backgrounds.
Next we used a sponge and different bird stencils and dabbed paint into the stencils to create a bird silhouette.
We enjoyed chatting about our memories of art class in school and our resident artist enjoyed chatting about her artworks. She is looking forward to the next session working with clay!
It’s so special to have a connection to the art community and it is a lovely way to bring out our creativity.
We are thrilled with our colourful masterpieces!
