On Thursday 27 April the celebrations here at Woodstock Residential Care Home continued for Daphne’s 100th birthday as we all got together for this very special day.
After receiving so much love, presents and cards to celebrate her 100th birthday, Daphne enjoyed her birthday party with singer Elvis. Our birthday girl was over the moon when she heard that Elvis was visiting – she really couldn’t believe it! Daphne said she felt very special that he was coming to sing to her on her birthday.
Daphne sang along to all of the music and had a big smile on her face throughout the party; Elvis serenaded her and even gave her his scarf as a keepsake, which she has kept close ever since! Daphne was joined by her family, a friend and everyone at Woodstock to celebrate this amazing birthday and even got up and showed us all she’s still got what it takes on the dance floor!
Lynn our Cook made Daphne a beautiful chocolate Elvis-themed birthday cake, with lots of cupcakes too. Elvis and everyone at Woodstock sang ‘Happy birthday’ to Daphne and she closed her eyes and made a wish when blowing out her candles. Daphne couldn’t thank everyone enough for everything and is still amazed with the number of cards she received for her special day.
Everyone at Woodstock felt so privileged to be able to celebrate this very special birthday with such a wonderful lady.
