Fundraising champions
Last year, residents and staff at Woodstock Residential Care Home held one of the biggest events they’ve ever organised – a sponsored walk, cake sale and raffle for National Alzheimer’s Day.
Their fantastic fundraising total came to £710, with a price match from Barclays Bank taking them to an impressive grand total of £1420!
This made them ‘Champion Fundraisers‘ across the Nellsar Group and on Tuesday 11 January the Woodstock team was presented with their Champion Fundraiser Trophy from Nellsar’s Recreation and Well-Being Manager Viv Stead.

Alzheimer’s Society cheque presentation
The team was also delighted to host the cheque presentation of Nellsar’s fundraising efforts to The Alzheimer’s Society at Woodstock this week (outside to follow Covid guidelines).
Megan Guy, Community Fundraiser for Kent and East Sussex, came to accept the cheque on the Society’s behalf and explained how essential the funds are to their work;
“Thank you for inviting me, all of your efforts will go towards those affected by Dementia, wherever they are and whenever they need us. We fund vital research into cure, care and prevention. Through our work we aim to raise awareness, support those who need us and hopefully one day find a cure.”
