Spooky decorations at Woodstock Residential Care Home

Our Woodstock Residential Care Home residents got ready for Halloween by creating a giant spider for our Home last week!

We scrunched up newspaper, stuffed it into black bags to make the spider’s body and then our residents painted swimming pool floats for the legs. We attached all the parts together to create a giant spider, which can now be seen at the front of our Home to welcome our visitors!

We’ve also held an arts and crafts session when we coloured in pumpkins and created some spooky Halloween masks – we had Frankenstein, a black cat, a witch and a zombie. Our residents enjoyed wearing them and singing along to the ‘Monster Mash‘.

Our ladies and gents have also taken part in spider target games; they had three jelly spiders which they had to throw at a target web in order try and achieve the highest score possible. The winner with the top score received some Trick or Treat sweets to enjoy.

As part of all the spooky fun, we’ve also decorated our Reception with Halloween decorations with scary spiders and skeletons; we can’t wait for our Monster Mash Ball on Monday 31 October.

Happy Halloween wishes from everyone at Woodstock!
