On Thursday 17 March our residents here at Woodstock Residential Care Home celebrated St Patrick’s Day with lots of dressing up, music and games.
We decorated our Home with Irish flags and banners to celebrate the day while listening to Irish pub music to get us in the spirit!
We had so much fun dressing up; our staff wore green and our residents used props and hair pieces with some beautiful ginger plaits and green tutus!
Our St Patrick’s Day target games were great fun – throwing balls into the pot of gold to win some yummy golden chocolate coins. Everyone had the chance to win some coins and we all cheered each other on to win!
We played ‘Guess the weight of the potato‘ too and everyone had a feel of what they thought the potato weighed. We had lots of good guesses and lots of laughs. Jacky thought the potato was that ‘about five stone!’
The potato actually weighed in at 1.1lbs and a lot of guesses weren’t far off!
For lunch we enjoyed some yummy Irish stew and a refreshing glass of Guinness.
