Last week we were excited to welcome back the Wimbledon tennis tournament to Woodstock Residential Care Home – the true sign that summer has begun!
We enjoyed strawberries and cream and a glass of Prosecco to welcome in the first few days of the Grand Slam and it really did feel like we were there! We particularly enjoyed tasting some of our very own strawberries that we’d grown in our garden; we were really proud to show off our gardening efforts!
Later, we got together for our own competitive Wimbledon tournament with some fun games of balloon tennis. We all enjoyed this and it was such an energetic activity, with lots of smiling faces. Everyone was happy to join in and the game brought out everyone’s competitive streaks! We were all great sportsmen/women and shook each others’ hands, saying ‘Good game!’.
Playing balloon tennis and watching Wimbledon together brought back a lot of memories for everyone about their times playing tennis and keeping fit and active. We are looking forward to watching more Wimbledon this week and seeing what this tournament has to bring!
