Woodstock Residential Care Home celebrates Dignity Action Day 2020

On Saturday 1 February we celebrated Dignity Action Day with our residents at Woodstock Residential Care Home.

This very special day has a lot of meaning for so many people; we at Woodstock want our residents to know that we will maintain their dignity by being respectful, compassionate and kind when they are in our care.

Dignity Action Day is a great way for us to raise awareness in our Home and we invited family and friends to join us to mark this important date.

We held an afternoon tea party, with singer Fred Clark providing some wonderful music, featuring all our favourite songs.

We also drew around a person and made this into our ‘Dignity Person Tree‘. We spent a lot of time painting our tree and making it bright and colourful for everyone to see. On Dignity Action Day, everyone wrote on a paper leaf what dignity means to them and we stuck these all around our tree. A beautiful reflective creation.

We also made two trees with all our residents photos attached to them, which was a lovely feature for our celebrations.
