Woodstock Residential Care Home celebrates Stoke Awareness Month

On Monday 30 May we celebrated ‘Make May Purple’ for Stoke Awareness Month at Woodstock Residential Care Home.

Our staff dressed up in purple and we created a purple photo frame with purple tissue paper flowers and a hat to match – we then took some lovely photos of our residents with them.

As part of the day, we gave out leaflets to our staff and put up posters explaining the importance of ‘FAST‘ – the acronym FAST (Facial drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulties and Time) has been used by the National Stroke Association and others to educate the public on detecting symptoms of a stroke.

We all enjoyed the day and helped to raise awareness and educate everyone at the same time.
