Woodstock Residential Care Home residents enjoy Dementia Cafe trip

Dementia Café

Our residents at Woodstock Residential Care Home were invited to attend the Oasis Dementia Café this week, which is run by Paul Murray (Head of Community Liaison) and his pupils at the Oasis Academy.

They put on a lovely show of singing and dancing for everyone to watch and a gorgeous afternoon tea. There was even an inspiring speech by the Bishop Rose.

The pupils and staff made everyone feel so welcome and were all very helpful. This is a wonderful way to bring the two different generations together and both learn from each other.

We are looking forward to the next Dementia Café already!

Snakes and ladders

Our residents have also been enjoying a game of giant snakes and ladders, taking it in turns to throw a giant dice whilst staff helped to move the pieces around the board.

A great bit of friendly fun to bring out the competitive side in everyone!

The game went down a storm with our residents who remember playing it when they were young.
