On Thursday 27 February, our residents from Woodstock Residential Care Home were invited to the Oasis Academy to enjoy their Dementia Spring Café.
The cafe was run by Headmaster Paul Murray and his students and we had a wonderful time socialising with the young students and meeting both the Major and Deputy Major.
We were served tea and coffee, as well as a spread of wonderful cakes by the students, who also put on a fantastic show for us, which included some super dancing and singing. Songs included ‘A Million Dreams’ from The Greatest Showman, ‘How Far I’ll Go‘ from Moana and ‘Try Everything‘ by Shakira, which were all very uplifting.
The event was a great way to bring the community together and learn about dementia.
