Woodstock Residential Care Home residents take a trip to Aylesford Priory

Our residents at Woodstock Residential Care Home took a trip to Aylesford Priory recently, where we enjoyed a lovely picnic in the beautiful grounds and looking at the ducks in the pond.

After taking a walk and exploring the many chapels there, we marvelled at the stunning stained glass windows and the candles that were lit.

We then headed to the coffee shop for a nice cup of tea and cake, and our residents had a look around the gift shop – stopping to purchase some memorable trinkets. It was a wonderful day and we look forward to returning there soon.

Sensory exploration with sand

Our residents worked with sand in trays as a way of exploring their senses – drawing shapes and writing their initials in the sand.

This was a great activity to do with our residents and one that everyone could enjoy due to us being able to visit them in their rooms.

Not everyone liked the sensation of their fingers in the sand but they enjoyed talking about the seaside and reminiscing on childhood trips to the beach.
