Gardening club seed planting at Woodstock Residential Care Home

On Thursday 16 February our residents at Woodstock Residential Care Home showed us their green fingers when we got together for our gardening club.

We started by adding a splash of water to the soil and then put the soil in our plant pot trays. We then added lots of different seeds, making sure we carefully cover them over enough; the seeds we used included onions, carrots and broad beans.

Everyone enjoyed chatting about their own gardens and what they grow at home. Anne said she grows all her fruit and vegetables at home so they are always fresh for her dinner. We all chatted about our favourite flowers and finished off with a lovely cup of tea.

Gardening club is a great way to learn new skills from each other and is a great way to improve our fine motor skills too.

We are all looking forward to our next gardening session and are excited to watch our seedlings grow!
