Here at Woodstock Residential Care Home we have been preparing for National Pizza Day which is coming up this week on Wednesday 9 February.
We began by spreading tomato sauce on our pizza bases with the back of a spoon followed by a light sprinkling of cheese, before decorating them with colourful red and yellow peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and pepperoni. We then added another sprinkling of cheese to finalise our masterpieces.
Everyone took so much care with creating and designing their own pizza.
We transferred our pizzas on to baking trays and cooked them in the oven, ready to share around with everyone at tea time. We couldn’t wait to share a slice, as we were proud of what we had made!
We even enjoyed a sing along together while making the pizzas and had a lovely time giggling with friends.
This activity helped our residents to improve concentration and was good way to work fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
