interactiveMe arrives at Woodstock Residential Care Centre

Getting to know each of our residents as well as possible is the key to the high-quality care that we provide our ladies and gentlemen with every day. We are very excited to have a new tool at our disposal, in the form of ‘interactiveMe‘ (iMe)…

What is iMe? It’s like an interactive online ‘This Is Your Life’ which allows our care staff to build the best possible relationships with our residents. Created by Occupational Therapists alongside people with Dementia and their carers, it is really easy for our staff and families to use.

Using a tablet or iPad, each person’s secure profile is built to contain their own personal story, favourite photos, music, movie clips, audio and text. iMe allows us to hold meaningful conversations with our residents by using it as a therapeutic activity and conversational tool.

Founder Sam Dondi-Smith says,“interactiveMe is enabling the staff at Woodstock Residential Care Centre to really get to know their residents’ stories. This helps them to deliver more compassionate care and build better relationships with the people they support.”

Marina, who works within our Recreation and Well-Being Team said: “Woodstock residents have been enjoying interactiveMw which started up on Monday 18 May. It has been a great success – residents and staff have been spending lots of quality one-to-one time together exploring the new tool. Residents have enjoyed playing their favourite music, looking at their pictures and having a good old talk about their lives and what they enjoyed doing. This is a great way for us to get to know our residents even more, and keep in touch with their families by regularly adding pictures for them to see. Thank you to Viv Stead, (our Recreation and Well-Being Manager) and Sam Dondi-Smith (Founder of iMe) for setting this up for us!”
