Our Woodstock Residential Care Home residents celebrated Father’s Day on Sunday with an afternoon tea and quizzes with their loved ones.
We put up all the decorations made by our residents from previous weeks and decorated our dining room in a black and gold theme.
Our residents took time to talk and remember their fathers. We all had funny stories and memories to tell about our dads including, “He had a big belly, and it used to jiggle every time he laughed and it made us laugh more!’. We displayed our memories for everyone to read and enjoy.
Our lovely Cook Lynn made us some delicious Father’s Day cupcakes with football and gardening themes and edible picture decorations. We had scrumptious cake stands boasting a mixture of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, and cupcakes. Our drinks trolley served tea, coffee and a treat of bucks fizz for those who fancied it.
Once we had finished our tasty treats we moved on to some tabletop quizzes. We had a Father’s Day quiz, word search and crossword to get everyone thinking. We enjoyed competing against the other tables to see who could get the most questions quiz questions correct and had fun helping each other out with word challenges.
Everyone had a lovely afternoon spending time with their loved ones and friends.
