Woodstock Residential Care Home residents cruise to marvellous Mexico

On Monday 15 January our Woodstock Residential Care Home residents took part in the Nellsar mini Cruise and travelled to sunny Mexico!

We decorated our Home in bright colours and Mexican flags, and also created some displays with helpful information for our travels, such as easy Spanish phrases and historic information on Frida Kahlo.

Our team all dressed up in traditional Mexican clothing including sombreros, ponchos, bright dresses and even a Matador and bull! We spent the day exercising and dancing to Mexican music, including a Mariachi band, and played the maracas. We also had a photoshoot, all dressed up, as a souvenir of our travels.

Our Chef Damon and Kitchen Assistant Agnes worked very hard to create some tasty Mexican cuisine for us to try. For lunch we were able to choose from vegetable burritos or chicken enchiladas with Mexican rice. For dessert we were treated to Tres Leche cake with dulce de leche sauce. This went down a treat with everyone and we all enjoyed trying something new. We enjoyed listening to a variety of Mexican music during lunch to evoke the Mexican culture.

So far our ladies and gents have all enjoyed their trip to Mexico and are looking forward to trying more new activities throughout the week whilst on their stay.
