Woodstock Residential Care Home residents have fun at a farm

Recently, a group of our Woodstock Residential Care Home residents had a lovely day out at Teynham Farm.

We all got to meet lots of different animals including chickens, sheep, emus, wallabies and tortoises.

We were also very lucky to get the chance to hold a beautiful owl called Pearl who was just the right size to fit on our hands! Everyone was mesmerised by her gorgeous orange eyes and learnt so much about owls and how it is damaging to their feathers to stroke them. We all enjoyed learning about the different types of owls and were interested in all the different colours and sizes they were.

Our residents loved feeding the sheep and tortoises and said how much they enjoyed spending time with the animals. The farm staff were on hand to help us with entering the enclosures to be closer to the animals and really experience farm life.

We’re looking forward to having some of these animals visit us at Woodstock in a couple weeks time!
