Our ladies and gents at Woodstock Residential Care Home got to travel back in time and try some of their favourite sweets on Friday 28 July.
We created an old sweet shop on wheels for everyone to enjoy, packed with treats such as liquorice all-sorts, dolly mixtures, blackjacks, fruit salads, wham bars and jelly beans. Yum!
Our ladies and gents were able to pick what sweets they wanted and scoop them up into a paper bag ready to eat. We also had a tasty madeira cake on offer with cream – so we were spoilt for choice!
As we travelled around our Home with our sweet trolley we played sweet-themed songs including The Searchers ‘Sweets for my Sweet’ and ‘My Boy Lollipop’ by Millie Small.
Everyone got to enjoy their retro pick-n-mix and remember them from their childhood. What a delicious day!
