A group of our ladies at Woodstock Residential Care Home took part in our Kitchen Club on Saturday 23 December and made some wonderful Christmas biscuits.
First off we had to put on our very important Chefs hats to get us in the Christmassy spirit! Then we weighed out all the different ingredients and added spices such a cinnamon and ginger to give it the Christmas touch. We had to use our hands to make the mixture into crumble and then kneed it all together to form a dough.
Next we rolled out the dough and used Christmas cutters to create different festive shapes such as trees and stars, all ready for the oven.
Once the biscuits had been baked and given time to cool down, we were able to decorate them with different coloured icing and edible mini snowflakes and baubles. Our ladies were very creative with their decorating and every biscuit turned out differently.
Finally, we had best job of taste-testing and sharing them out around our Home – delicious!
We all thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Cooking Club and getting back in touch with our baking skills.
