Happy Valentine’s Day!
Our ladies and gents all enjoyed celebrating Valentine’s Day here at Woodstock Residential Care Home on Wednesday.
We decorated our Home with lots of red and pink hearts, and hearts that had been coloured in by our residents.
First we played a game where we had to roll dice to pick a question about Valentine’s Day and things we love. Questions included ‘Do you have a funny story about a date?‘ and ‘Have you ever been married and where did you meet?‘. We all enjoyed listening to each others’ stories about tales of love and finding out a little bit more about each other.
In the afternoon we welcomed one of our favourite singers, Fred Clark. Fred sang a variety of songs to us and gave us a chance to get on the mic and show off our singing voices!
We all enjoyed some Prosecco and beautifully decorated cupcakes and biscuits made by our Chef Lynn, and had also invited some of our residents’ husbands and wives in to celebrate with cream tea.
Birthday wishes for Dennis
We also celebrated a birthday on Valentine’s Day when our lovely Dennis turned 96. Dennis enjoyed a visit from his daughter and sister, and also received lots of post and flower deliveries.
Our Chef Damon made him a lovely cake which we all looked forward to sharing at tea time.
Everyone had a lovely day with each other, celebrating new friendships and love, as well as remembering ones from the past.
