Our residents at Woodstock Residential Care Home made some tasty savoury treats for everyone to try recently – delicious pizza rolls with puff pastry, tomato puree, ham and grated cheese.
First we prepared all the ingredients by grating the cheese, cutting the ham into small pieces and rolling out the pastry. We all had different duties and were happy to do our part to make this a great success.
Next we spread the tomato puree over the puff pastry sheets using the back of a spoon, making sure all the pastry was covered. After this our residents sprinkled the cheese and ham evenly over the base. We cut the pastry into strips and then began rolling them up. Lastly we glazed them with an egg wash to give them a nice golden colour and put them in the oven.
They smelt so delicious as they were cooking and we enjoyed getting our friends and family at Woodstock to try them – they were yummy!
